A clear explanation of A+B power feeds and why they matter for resilient colocation.

A+B power explained

A+B power means a device or rack can be supplied by two separate power feeds, commonly called A and B. Equipment with dual power supplies can connect one supply to each feed.

Why it matters

Dual feeds help reduce the impact of maintenance or faults on one power path, provided the customer hardware and rack design are configured correctly.

What customers should check

Confirm whether your servers have dual PSUs, how PDUs are configured, what power draw is expected and whether your deployment needs single-feed or dual-feed resilience.

Do not overscope power

Accurate power planning improves reliability and cost control. Use manufacturer figures, real-world draw and growth plans when requesting a quote.
